Patients often come to clinic with information from online sources. Some of this is actually very helpful. It helps facilitate the conversation and answer questions that might have come up.

Most of the data online is available for amyloidosis.

I think my role as a healthcare provider is to help the patient sift through these data to ensure they leave with a valid and comprehensive understanding of their disease and how these data play into our treatment plan.

And honestly, for the most part, patients come to clinic visits with only a rudimentary understanding of the disease, and we spend most of it going through the basics and reiterating at future visits.
